Back in London

August 10th, 2007 by Rob James - Magician

Was back doing close up magic in central London last night working at a place called Digress City which is in the very grand City Point complex near Moorgate tube. The event was a drinks and canapés event for a firm of solicitors, one of whom had seen me at a similar event in Piccadilly Circus earlier this year. When you are an entertainer this sort of job is sometimes referred to as “a corporate”. Although, people that generally use that term also usually like to do air quotes and talk about “thinking outside the box”. Everyone at the event had a name badge on and I was given one that said “Magician”. I completely forgot that I had the badge on and was pretty surprised when I was standing at the bar before I started and someone next to me asked if I was a magician. Whoops. I was trying out a couple of new tricks that I’ve been working on quietly for the last few months, all went well and I might start doing them regularly. Right, I am off now to get ready for my booking later…
