Henley on Thames

Had a fun and slightly tiring day in Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire yesterday. I like Henley a lot- people playing croquet, gentlemen walking about in boater hats and blazers, it is the sort of place that is exactly how Hollywood films portray England. I was booked as a close up magician at two weddings - the first one was at Phyllis Court Club which I have been to a couple of times before and the second one was at Danesfield House which is only four miles away outside of Henley. I have never worked at Danesfield House before but it’s a pretty impressive looking building from the outside. The most notable thing yesterday was that the rain managed to hold off for perhaps the first time this summer. More often that not at weddings this year I have found myself, along with the guests, having to shelter inside as torrential rain falls outside. Summer weddings don’t seem to be summer weddings without drinks and canapés on the lawn!
