The Bristol magician, Back in Bristol

Most of my time as a pro. magician has been spent in Bristol so it was nice to be in town yesterday for a wedding anniversary celebration at the Arnos Manor Hotel in Brislington. This is a venue that I have driven past hundreds of times (it’s the hotel near the ITV building) but have never worked in. I think I must have worked at almost every possible venue in Bristol from the Hotel Du Vin and the two Marriott hotels through to Bristol Zoo and even Harry Ramsden’s! That was, I hasten to add, kind of near the beginning of my career! Anyway, the booking yesterday came from someone who saw me at a wedding on the Glass Boat also in Bristol, but across town. Did my newish stand up magic routine again to great response. I am now off for a few days but off to the IBM convention which is one of the biggest annual meetings of magicians in the country.
