What’s been happening

Just an update as I am aware the blog hasn’t been updated for a while, and I don’t want you to think I have dropped off the face of the planet! In fact, things have been pretty crazy for the last few months. In just the past few weeks I have been to Luxembourg for a corporate event, performed at The Hilton Park Lane, The Grosvenor House and The Dorchester and consulted on a movie!
This week I was on Park Lane again performing with a team of magicians at the Royal Variety Performance after-show party.
Royal Variety
Working as part of a team is always fun and this gig meant I got to catch up with some old friends and perform for and meet some interesting people, including, amusingly, one of the Chuckle Brothers.
Trade show
One of the joys of being a magician is that every day is different, so one day I can be mixing with showbiz types on Park Lane and the next day I can be working as part of a sales team at an exhibition, helping drive people to the stand of a trade show. This month I was up working for an existing client at the Birmingham NEC (although the exhibition was held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel) – surprisingly, I quite enjoyed it despite the early start and long day on my feet.
Finally, one of the most interesting jobs of the month was working for two days on the new Matthew Vaughn movie “The Secret Service”. Vaughn directed X-Men and Kick Ass and this new film is going to be big. It stars Michael Caine and Colin Firth. I was working with newcomer Taron Egerton teaching him how to do something for one of the scenes. I won’t spoil it as that part of the plot is integral to the movie.

So that was some of my highlights of November… and December looks to be as manic as ever. If I don’t blog again between now and December then I may have been hospitalised after being hit with a party popper or rocket balloon. I only have about 3 evenings free between now and Christmas so if you are looking for last minute entertainment get in touch! :-)
