Q. Do you enjoy performing magic in Cheltenham?
A. Absolutely. It hosts some fabulous venues and is one of my favourite towns in the UK.
Q. Which venue in Cheltenham is your favourite?
A. I had a soft spot for the Daffodil restaurant, as I worked there a couple of times and the food is delicious. I went off them a bit after they cancelled a booking with me at short notice though. So, I would say that my favourite place to perform as a magician in Cheltenham has to be the very elegant Hotel Du Vin.
Q. Have you done any wedding fayres in Cheltenham?
A. I have worked to promote other people. I performed at a large wedding fayre at the racecourse recently on behalf of The Lords of the Manor Hotel in Upper Slaughter. Other than that I don't tend to perform at any wedding fayres (they are expensive and often ill-attended)
Q. Is that Cheltenham town centre I can spot in your promotional video?
A. Good spot! In my first ever showreel we went out, in the freezing cold, to film close up magic for the good people of Cheltenham. That video is a bit dated but everytime I walk through the centre of town I am reminded of that day!
Q. Who is the best magician for hire in Cheltenham?
A. Hmmm... let me think!
Q. Will you ever do the Evening of Deception Show in Cheltenham again?
A. I don't think so. I did it two years in a row and although I am regularly in the area as a wedding magician or a magician for hire at various venues, the organisers of the show decided they want to keep the line up varied, although they use many of the same acts from previous years. In the show's short history three acts have pulled out before the show, in fact one of them pulled out during the run. I pride myself on reliability! I have also performed in Hollywood, a whole run at Edfringe etc. with a completely different act so it would be nice to back to the Everyman, but I don't think it will happen.
Q. What's your favourite type of magic to perform?
A. I love performing small shows for 8-15 people. Always a real joy. These tend to be close-up magic shows after dinner in private dining rooms.
